New York Agri-Women Are Now On Facebook and Twitter

by Cari Rincker on Feb.04, 2010, under Ag-vocacy, Food & Ag Organizations, Food & Ag Policy, Social Media and Technology

Several women involved in the agriculture industry in New York are starting a New York affilate of the American Agri-Women Association (“AAW”) (a.k.a. @Women4Ag).  I have always particularly admired strong female leaders involved in agriculture – afterall, we’re the ones really running this industry! (don’t tell the guys I said that).   New York Agri-Women will give females involved in agriculture in the Empire State a way to work together to:  1) educate consumers, 2) educate the agriculture industry, and 3) educate lawmakers in state and local governments.

New York Agri-Women now has a Facebook fan page and you can follow the organization on Twitter @NYAgriWomen.  Would love to start a blog for the organization as well so if you are a New York female involved in the agriculture industry interesting in starting a blog, please let me know.  Alternatively, if you already have a blog about New York agriculture, please let me know for a blogroll that I am working on.

If you are interested in getting involved with New York Agri-Women, please contact me at newyorkagriwomen@gmail.com or reach me at 212/427.2049.  Currently, we are organizing a reception and educational opportunities June 17-18th along with AAW.  Informational meetings are also being planned in Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo.
