I’m super excited to be presenting at the Cornell Cooperative Extension this November, where I will be the keynote speaker. In my presentation, The Broken Windows Theory and Your Farm: How the ‘Little Things’ with Risk Management Can Make the Big Difference,” I will talk about the “Broken Windows Theory” and explain how to apply this concept to farms in terms of risk management. I will later be presenting on the topic of business structure and planning; I will be speaking about the different business structures and attributes, and how these fit into the business planning process.

Estelle Davis, Melissa Buckley and Lindsay Eckman will be presenting on labor regulations, Daniel L. Welch of NY FarmNet/FarmLink will speak about farm transfer planning and farm leasing, while Robert Hadad, specialist at Cornell Vegetable Program, will talk about good agricultural practices.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension Southern Tier Agricultural Risk Management Conference takes place on Monday, November 3rd, 2014. For more information about this conference, contact Lynn Bliven: (585) 268-7644 ext. 18.
