Carolyn Vance works as a legal assistant in the Champaign Office coordinating discovery. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and an M.S. in Library Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She spent 38 years as the librarian of The News-Gazette, where she archived published stories and photos. Though not a native of Illinois, she has now spent most of her life in Champaign-Urbana. She grew up in California’s Bay Area.
She loves reading, folk music, plants, nature, spending time with friends, and has been a volunteer English As A Second Language teacher. She is a bit of a language geek and a plant geek. Her church community has been influential in her life and formative of her social justice perspective. She has a cat named Holly.
