Women involved in the agriculture industry from coast-to-coast are gathered in Denver, Colorado today for the Mid-Year Meeting of the American Agri-Women (“AAW”). I was hoping that I would be able to break away for the conference (and some time for fresh air in the mountains); unfortunately my caseload is keeping me here in NYC. After reviewing the agenda, I am certainly jealous of those of you who will be attending.
Not only will AAW be discussing its policy positions, but Amanda Nolz will be discussing “Using Social Media to be a Force for Truth for Agriculture.” I have been following Amanda’s Beef Daily blog for years now and would love to hear her speak in person. Furthermore, I just finished watching Food Inc. last weekend and I see that AAW will be viewing and discussing the movie tomorrow night. I encourage AAW members who are on Google Wave to post some of their thoughts after watching the movie (cari.rincker@googlewave.com).
Since I won’t be there I will make sure to follow tweets (@Women4Ag) and videocasts from the conference over the next few days. I hope to attend the AAW trip to Washington D.C. June 13-16th and/or the Annual Convention in St. Louis November 11-14th. Have fun ladies and enjoy Denver! Beautiful part of the country.
