I spent last week in Greensboro, North Carolina at the American Agri-Women (“AAW”) – SyngentaLeadership At Its Best” Conference.  It was a great week and I had a nice time getting to know other AAW members.  I was invited to participate on behalf of New York Agri-Women.  Female leadership in the agriculture industry is so important.  If you don’t believe me, listen to AAW President Chris Wilson

It was a jammed packed week full of exciting speakers including Michele Payn-Knoper from Cause Matters Corp. (social media), Bryan Gentsch from Association Strategies (board leadership and public policy), Jodie Beach from The Etiquette Advantage (business etiquette), Steve Powell from Bouvier Kelly (public speaking), and Skip Ragland (media interviews).  AAW President Chris Wilson also gave policy briefings and spoke about AAW’s plans for 2010.  Perhaps the most exciting event of the conference was learning about Syngenta’s cutting edge research and getting a tour of its crop protection facilities there in Greensboro.

I will be posting interviews from the AAW conference participants on this blog to share their thoughts on the conference an various agriculture policy issues at the state and national level.
