Rincker Law PLLC is scheduled to participate in this Farm Animal Legal Conference held by the New York Farm Bureau (“NYFB”) on October 15, 2009 at the Clarion Hotel in Albany, New York addressing the threat posed by animal activists to New York farmers. This is a very important discussion topic whether you are a small seedstock producer or a large commercial operation.
The keynote speaker will be David Martokso, the Director of Research at The Center for Consumer Freedom (“CCF”) in Washington D.C., who works extensively on animal welfare issues and its affects on the agriculture industry and food economy. In addition, Kay Johnson Smith from the Animal Agriculture Alliance (“AAA”) will also be a featured speaker for the day.
There will be a discussion of the currest state of animal welfare laws, proposed bills in the New York legislature, and the influence of animal activism in New York court cases. It should be a great day in Albany with an all-star line-up. Both NYFB members and non-members can register by contacting Lisa Ovitt at 1-800-342-4143.
