For those of you who missed it, the recording of the intellectual property (“IP”) webinar that I moderated for the American Bar Association (“ABA”) General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Division’s Agriculture Law Committee last November is now available for purchase. Even though I love participating in the live webcasts in case I have a question to ask, recordings are really the way to go. You can listen to them anywhere, anytime (snowday?). The webinar is titled “Overview of Intellectual Property Law Affecting Farmers, Agri-Businesses and Food Entrepreneurs” and is available for purchase through the ABA web store here. This webinar truly had an all-star cast —
Joel Cape, Esq. – Law Office of Joel E. Cape, PLC – Fayetteville, AR
Brian Gregg, Esq. – McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC – Harrisburg, PA
Drew Kersen, Esq. – University of Oklahoma College of Law – Norman, OK
Martha L. Noble, Esq. – Healdsburg, CA
The webinar goes through copyrights, trademarks, patents, domain names, biotechnology and other IP issues pertinent for the food and agriculture lawyer. Even though this webinar is directed to lawyers (ahhh did someone say CLE credits?), nonlawyers are welcome to listen into the recording. Oh law students- you can listen too (we all know it’s hard to get agriculture law courses in MOST law schools…).
For you lawyers out there in the the interwebs, I have been doing a lot more trademarks for food and agriculture clients lately.. and a few copyright questions have come across my desk. I think it’s nice to have some IP knowledge in your repertoire.
