Wow—15 years! It’s hard to believe that Rincker Law has been serving clients for a decade and a half. And in true fashion, I realized that I never even did a 10-year anniversary blog! But life moves fast when you’re dedicated to building a business, serving clients, writing books, launching podcasts, and, of course, becoming a mother.
To mark this milestone, I want to reflect on some of the key accomplishments, growth, and transformations Rincker Law has experienced over the past 15 years, especially in the last five. From expanding our legal services to opening new offices and embracing new opportunities, it’s been an incredible ride.
Major Milestones and Accomplishments
Launching The Billable Mom Podcast
One of the most exciting recent projects has been the launch of The Billable Mom podcast. This has been a passion project of mine, offering a platform for working moms in law and other professions to connect, share advice, and find support. Prior to The Billable Mom, I co-hosted the Ag Law Today podcast, which I had the pleasure of producing in collaboration with Purdue University Extension Education. Over 50 episodes later, it remains an incredible resource for agriculture law discussions.
Expanding Our Legal Publications
In the last 15 years, writing has become a key part of how Rincker Law educates and empowers clients. I’ve written, co-authored, and published several books, including Field Manual: Legal Guide for New York Farmers and Food Entrepreneurs, Family Law Issues in Agriculture, and Onward and Upward: Guide for Getting through New York Divorce and Family Law Issues, which provide practical guidance on legal issues in these critical areas. I’ve also authored two children’s books, Jace Goes to the Farm and Jace Goes to New York, that share the story of sharing our Family Farm with my son, Jace, and taking him to his first trip to New York City.
Opening New Offices
A huge part of Rincker Law’s growth has been expanding beyond our original New York office. In 2017, we opened an office in Champaign, Illinois, followed by another in Shelbyville in 2019, which eventually became our main office in 2022, just before I became a mom. We’ve also extended our reach with satellite offices in New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, and Kentucky—offices I rely on to better serve our clients across the country.
Evolving as a Working Mom and Firm Leader
Becoming a mother has had a profound impact on how I run Rincker Law. The birth of my daughter in 2022 brought new challenges, but also made me even more committed to balancing life and work. This change has also led me to depend more on my talented team to provide the high-quality service our clients expect.
New Practice Areas: Renewable Energy & Farm Succession Planning
As the legal landscape evolves, so has Rincker Law’s practice areas. In recent years, we’ve delved into renewable energy law, reflecting the growing interest in sustainable energy practices in agriculture. Our farm estate and succession planning services have also expanded, with a significant portion of our work now dedicated to helping families navigate these complex and sensitive issues.
New Bar Admission & Speaking Engagements
In the last four years, I added a new feather to my cap by obtaining my Kentucky bar license, which has allowed us to broaden our reach in the Midwest. I’ve also had the honor of speaking at several events, most recently for First Trust Bank in August, where I spoke about agricultural law developments.
Onward and Upward
Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far Rincker Law has come—from a single office in New York to a multi-state operation, from one book to several, and from a solo practice to a strong team of dedicated professionals. But the heart of the firm remains the same: a deep commitment to serving our clients with excellence and compassion.
As I reflect on these 15 years, I feel both proud and grateful. Thank you to all our clients, colleagues, and supporters who have been part of this journey. Here’s to the next 15 years—onward and upward!
