This outline gives a cursory overview of mediation. It first discusses what mediation is and compares it to other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) and litigation. It then discusses the values of mediation (e.g., self determination, neutrality). This outline also covers the step-by-step process of mediation beginning with the first call and the aftermath of the last mediation session. Finally, this outline closes with the types of disputes that can be mediated and explains the timeline on when and how mediation can take place. Enjoy!
