Survey of Legal Issues Affecting Livestock Producers – May 6, 2015 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.   This presentation will be during Lawline’s Food, Beverage and Agriculture Law event May 4-6, 2015.  There will be a live webcast for this presentation.

Overview of Farm Leases– July 16, 2015 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
I will give an overview of farm leases and discuss the following issues: (1) difference between active and passive income for taxes/social security and how it affects the structure of the farm lease, (2) types of farm leases (e.g., cash rent, crop-share, and hybrid/flexible), (3) major lease provisions, and (4) price/rent negotiation.

Drafting Embryo Transfer Contracts for Cattle Producers– August 20, 2015 at 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
I will delve into Embryo Transfer (“ET”) contracts for cattle producers. In doing so,I will explain the science behind ET to help the contract draftsman understand the lingo used in the industry and the issues that the contract should address.

Protecting the Food or Agri-Business: Managing Contracts, Trademarks and Non-Disclosure Agreements–  September 24, 2015 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.  I will touch upon three major issues to help protect the food or agri-business, namely (1) contract management, (2) trademarks and other intellectual property concerns, and (3) non-disclosure agreements. The presentation will discuss ways the food and agriculture lawyer can help manage these issues for the growing food or agri-business.

Overview of Common Agriculture Contracts– October 23, 2015 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
I will give a cursory overview of common agriculture contracts including (1) Agriculture Production Contracts,
(2) Custom Feeding Arrangements, (3) Farm Leases, (4) Farm Machinery Leases, (5) Leasing Animals, and (6) Partnership Agreements.

Overview of New York Farm Animal Welfare Law– November 12, 2015 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
I will give an overview of farm animal cruelty law in New York as it applies to livestock producers. She briefly discusses search and seizure of farm animals. I conclude with pointers for agriculture lawyers to help counsel livestock producers develop a plan for their farm.
