What Are Some Things That You Would Pay More For?

This photo was taken at Mark King's Simmental Ranch in Montana. I yearn sometimes for Big Sky Country. Beautiful land.

I enjoyed reading Troy Marshall’s article in Beef magazine titled “5 things I’d pay more for” (page 43 in the July 2012 issue).  Troy states that there are a few items he thinks is worth extra money including (his Top 5):

1.  Good genetics;

2.  Good people;

3.  Good equipment and tools;

4.  Good horse; and,

5.  Good boots.

I would like to add that I think it’s worth a little extra for quality professional services that can save you money in the long haul.  This can include veterinary expenses, accounting, technology and legal services.  Some folks are against using attorneys but I think this is short-sighted.  Sound legal advice can save you in the long run and it may be paramount to seek guidance to preserve the livelihood of your farm/business.  It is difficult to sometimes see the full financial benefit of professionals but I urge my readers to see the big picture with these types of expenses for your farm or agri-business.

I have been a subscriber to Beef magazine for several years.  You can view the August issue here.  You can follow @BeefMagazine on Twitter here or Facebook here.  And, of course, I am a longtime reader of the Beef Daily Blog authored by the beautiful Amanda Radke.
