Using Social Media to be an Advocate for Agriculture
I developed the below presentation for the Oneida County, New York 4-H program a few weeks ago. The below presentation includes primarily screenshots illustrating use of social media to “tell the story” of agriculture to the American consumer. It’s been a few years since I have had a “Blogroll” – the presentation notes several nice blogs from agriculture producers, including …

Blog Fodder Advice For Your Own Food & Agriculture Blog
I am oftentimes asked (by lawyers and non-lawyers) how I “come up with” ideas for blog posts. These people either have their own blog or are considering starting one. I am by no means an expert blogger, but for those that are interested, this is my own methodology: 1. I have a blog fodder file on my desk. Anytime I …

Some Thoughts On Contacting An Attorney for a Consultation
I read this excellent blog post last night from Alison Rowe, an equine lawyer in Texas, titled “How To Cold-Call An Attorney.” She did a great job covering preparation, expectation, listening and timing. I especially liked Alison’s advice on explaining your problem to your attorney in four sentences or less and contacting an attorney well before the court appearance. A …
